After exhibition, replace specimen in its storage tray, withdraw Removal Slip<br />
and either keep with specimen or place in History File.<br />
Normally, loans are made to bodies outside of the museum. We include loans-out<br />
here however to cover those situations where specimens are lent to other<br />
departments, perhaps in other buildings yet still within the same authority. For<br />
further details of loans-out see B6.1.1.<br />

Complete Removal Slip<br />
Complete loan-out documentation (see B6.1.1).<br />
Record Loan number on Removal Slips, and attach specimen's copy to the<br />
museum's copy of the loan form.<br />
Photocopy or transcribe labels accompanying specimen and send with loan to<br />
borrower.<br />
Replace all labels in the specimen tray in store, together with the bottom<br />
copy of the Removal Slip.<br />
On return of loan, replace specimen, cancel Removal Slip and either leave<br />
with specimen or place in History File.<br />

Maintain a record of conservation work carried out including drawings,<br />
photographs, labels, etc (see B5.4) and place either in a conservation file or<br />
the Historv File.<br />
Replace specimen, cancel Removal Slip, and either leave with specimen or<br />
place in History File.<br />
Amend or add to the catalogue entry as necessary.<br />
Complete Removal Slip, loan-out documentation, etc. following B5.3.2 as<br />
necessary.<br />
Provide and use Examination Labels (see B1.3.4.3(1)).<br />
On replacement, store Examination Label with specimen. Amend or add to<br />
the catalogue entry as necessary.<br />

Remove specimen tray with labels and Removal Slip to new storage position.<br />
Locate specimen Removal Slip, loan form and exhibition lists as appropriate<br />
and amend storage location record.<br />
Amend the catalogue entry.<br />
