Continuation <strong>of</strong> practical applications <strong>of</strong> construction skills in a<br />
field project. Focus on building techniques, job organization,<br />
plans, and materials. Projects may include any or all phases <strong>of</strong><br />
construction from excavation to final finish work, depending<br />
upon the specific stage <strong>of</strong> the project when students join the<br />
class. Class meetings are at a specified building site. Not open<br />
to students who have completed CON-51 with a grade <strong>of</strong> "C"<br />

DRA-52 INTRODUCTION TO AUTOCAD (G/P)<br />
This course introduces computer-aided drafting (CAD) and<br />
examines the hardware that makes up a CAD workstation. It<br />
also covers the operating system (Micros<strong>of</strong>t Windows) that<br />
enables the equipment to function as a unit. The course shows<br />
how to use AutoCAD to set up drawings and construct lines,<br />
circles, arcs, other shapes, geometric constructions,<br />
dimensioning, and text. Students will use display and editing<br />
techniques as well, to obtain information about their drawings,<br />
and work with drawing files. This course also covers<br />
recommended drafting standards required for proper drawings<br />
with AutoCAD.<br />

Provides a framework regarding appropriate use <strong>of</strong> a variety <strong>of</strong><br />
assessment and observation strategies to document children's<br />
developmental growth, play, and learning to join with families<br />
and pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in promoting children's success. Child<br />
observations will be conducted and analyzed using anecdotal<br />
records, recording techniques, rating systems, portfolios, and<br />
multiple assessment tools. Students will use assessments to<br />
identify developmentally appropriate teaching strategies,<br />
curriculum, and accurate reports.<br />
