HARTNELL COLLEGE<br />
<strong>Schedule</strong> Changes (Add/Drop Period):<br />
June 17 – June 19, <strong>2013</strong><br />
ADDS:<br />
No full semester course may be added after the published deadline June 19, <strong>2013</strong>. The Express Add Code must be processed using PAWS for Students<br />
by midnight Wednesday, June 19, <strong>2013</strong>.<br />
As <strong>of</strong> the first day <strong>of</strong> the class, regardless <strong>of</strong> whether the class is open or closed, you must get permission from the instructor by obtaining an Express Add<br />
Code. Instructors will only issue an Express Add code before or after class. PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE INSTRUCTOR WHILE THE CLASS IS IN<br />
SESSION. Instructors can also be contacted through their campus email. To obtain the instructors email address, please refer to the directory on<br />
www.hartnell.edu or through the instructor’s instructional department.<br />
The Express Add Code works only with our PAWS for Students online registration system. The Express Add Code has an expiration date, so register<br />
immediately. All registration rules still apply for students using Express Add Codes. Students are ultimately responsible for successfully completing their<br />
enrollment using the Express Add Code on the online registration system PAWS for Students to ensure they are registered for the class.<br />
PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE INSTRUCTOR WHILE THE CLASS IS IN SESSION TO OBTAIN AN EXPRESS ADD CODE<br />
• The Add Codes works only with our PAWS for Students online<br />
registration system. Regardless <strong>of</strong> whether the class is open or<br />
closed, as <strong>of</strong> the first day <strong>of</strong> the class, the Add Code is required to<br />
add a class.<br />
• The instructor will assign an Add Code to the student on an<br />
authorization form. Along with the Add Code, the authorization<br />
form will include the course name and number, section number,<br />
and Add Code expiration date.<br />
• The Add Codes are effective starting on the first day <strong>of</strong> the class.<br />
Register immediately on PAWS, the codes have an expiration<br />
date. After the expiration date, the Add Code will no longer give<br />
you access to enroll in the class.<br />
• The Add Code can only be used once. Once it is used, the code<br />
expires automatically.<br />
• Add Codes can only be used on PAWS for Students at<br />
www.hartnell.edu.Computers are available in the lobby <strong>of</strong> the CALL<br />
building and in the library. Student Ambassadors are available for<br />
PAWS registration assistance.<br />
• All registration rules still apply when using Add Codes<br />
o Application for admissions must be on file with the<br />
Admissions and Records Office<br />
o Students must be free <strong>of</strong> a conflicting course schedule.<br />

Students must meet prerequisite /co-requisite (if applicable)<br />
Students must not have any HOLDS on their academic<br />
record.<br />
How to Use Express Add Codes<br />

Student must have an Excess Units Petition on file if enrolling<br />
in 18+ units.<br />
K-12 Concurrent Students must have their approved<br />
Concurrent Enrollment form on file with Admissions and<br />
Records.<br />
To ensure a smooth registration, please be sure that you have<br />
access to your PAWS account and are clear <strong>of</strong> these registration<br />
rules. If you are unable to complete your registration due to one <strong>of</strong><br />
the registration rules, you will need to register in-person with<br />
Admissions and Records before your Add Code expires. Please<br />
bring the Add Code authorization form with you.<br />
ELECTRONIC PREREQUISITE CHECKING<br />
All prerequisite courses are listed after course descriptions in this<br />
schedule. If you met this requirement at another college, you must see a<br />
counselor immediately to obtain a Prerequisite Clearance form.<br />
Un<strong>of</strong>ficial or Official transcripts must be provided. Prerequisite Clearance<br />
Forms may take up to 2 working days to process once filed in<br />
Admissions & Records.<br />
NOTE: PAWS system is a faster and more convenient registration<br />
process. Payments can also be made by using PAWS for students.<br />
