ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION<br />
The Alternative Transportation Committee <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hartnell</strong> <strong>College</strong> encourages students, faculty, and staff to carpool, ride MST, bike, or walk to the Main<br />
Campus. Please watch for our on-campus activities throughout the semester (Clean Air Month; Bike to Work Week and other Alternative Transportation<br />
events).<br />
TRANSIT BUS PASS: Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus passes may be purchased monthly at the Cashier’s Office. MST is improving service to the<br />
campus. MST’s Line 20 Monterey-Salinas and the South County Express bus Line 23 Salinas-King City stop right at <strong>Hartnell</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s “front door.”<br />
BICYCLING: Salinas has 70 miles <strong>of</strong> bikeways. There are many convenient bicycle racks near campus buildings. Cycling and walking <strong>of</strong>fer excellent<br />
exercise.<br />
RIDESHARING: Commute Alternatives <strong>of</strong>fers a free carpool matching service. <strong>Hartnell</strong> currently <strong>of</strong>fers eight carpool parking spaces on the ground level<br />
<strong>of</strong> the parking structure. Stop by the cashier’s <strong>of</strong>fice and complete a Carpool Parking Application to receive a FREE Carpool parking permit.<br />
EMERGENCY GUARANTEED RIDE HOME: The Emergency Guaranteed Ride Home program provides free taxi rides to those who register and use<br />
alternative transportation modes at least 1 day a week and have an emergency situation that day. For information and to sign up, call 422-POOL.<br />
