*The BOG fee waiver program waives enrollment/tuition fees for eligible California residents for the 2012-<strong>2013</strong><br />
academic year. Students who submit a BOG fee waiver in the Fall 2012 or Spring <strong>2013</strong> term do not have to resubmit<br />
a fee waiver for the <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>2013</strong>.<br />
All students are required to pay their full balance for <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>2013</strong> fees and any remaining fees or be dropped from ALL <strong>of</strong> their<br />
<strong>Summer</strong> <strong>2013</strong> <strong>classes</strong>.<br />
Those requiring financial assistance should register for financial aid early. If you are a financial aid student or need financial<br />
assistance, stop by the Financial Aid Office to ensure that your financial aid will be processed by the deadline, you must submit<br />
one <strong>of</strong> the two documents listed below:<br />
1. You must complete and submit your 2012-<strong>2013</strong> FAFSA electronically before April 3, <strong>2013</strong> or<br />
2. You must submit your paper BOGW fee waiver to the Financial Aid Office before the deadline dates indicated above.<br />
If you are a Veteran (VA) Student, you must see the VA Representative, by Monday April 8, <strong>2013</strong> to ensure you will not be<br />
dropped for non-payment for <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>2013</strong>.<br />
If you are a Department <strong>of</strong> Rehabilitation Student, you must submit a voucher from the Department <strong>of</strong> Rehabilitation to<br />
<strong>Hartnell</strong>’s Cashier’s Office by Monday April 8, <strong>2013</strong> to ensure you will not be dropped for non-payment for <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

In addition to paying your fees at the Cashiers’ Office, you can pay your fees over the phone or on-line through PAWS.<br />
OBTAIN YOUR GED FOR FREE<br />
HEP is funded by the US Department <strong>of</strong> Education Office <strong>of</strong> Migrant Education.HEP is a migrant education<br />
program designed to assist migrant and seasonal field workers obtain their GED and either employment,<br />
military service, apprenticeship, Certificate <strong>of</strong> Skills Acquisition, Certificate <strong>of</strong> Achievement, or Associates<br />
Degree.<br />
The High School Equivalency Program (HEP) ELIGIBILITY:<br />
- A person, and/or his or her immediate family member, must have spent a minimum <strong>of</strong> 75 days during the<br />
past 24 months as a migrant or seasonal field worker<br />
- Not have earned a secondary school diploma or its equivalent<br />
- Not currently enrolled in an elementary or secondary school<br />
- Be 18 years <strong>of</strong> age or over, or beyond the age <strong>of</strong> compulsory school attendance in the state in which he<br />
or she resides<br />
- Be determined by HEP to need the academic and supporting services and financial assistance provided<br />
by the project in order to attain the equivalent <strong>of</strong> a secondary school diploma and to gain employment or<br />
be placed in an IHE or other postsecondary education or training.<br />
