This fee will fund activities and services for students for the entire Hartnell College student body. Part of this fee supports the ASHC Senate (student senate), student clubs, and governance activities. Student identification is required to check out books at Hartnell’s Library, for services of Admissions and Records, and for the use of math and reading labs. Other services/benefits for card holders are: ASHC scholarships, student handbooks, health and educational workshops, recognition awards, cultural workshops and events and merchant discounts (movie tickets, free Hartnell home sporting events, free Western Stage performances, Monterey Bay Aquarium, etc.) Photo identification is required when you use many of the services at Hartnell College. Photo I.D. Services will be available during in-person registration and during the first week of school. During the semester, photo ID. Services will be available in the Student Life Office (C-104)– schedules posted on office door. Continuing students must also bring the I.D. card that was issued to them in the previous semester. PARKING FEES For fall and spring semesters, students must request a parking refund from the Cashier’s Office. A 100% refund will be given through the second week of the semester upon complete withdrawal from classes. The parking permit must accompany the Request for Parking Refund form. The same requirements apply to summer session; however, a 100% refund is only given through the first week of the session. **The District reserves the right to change parking fees based on Hartnell College Board Policy 2255. Financial Aid Programs consists of programs, which are funded and regulated by the federal and state governments. The programs consist of three different types: Grants, Work and Loans. Grants – A Grant is money which students do not have to work for or repay. Students with bachelor’s degrees are not eligible for grants. Federal Pell Grant – Grants may range from $1,038 - $5550 per year. Grant awarded according to formula based on need. Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) –will range from $100 to $200 per academic year depending on Federal Allocations. Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGFW) – is a financial assistance program to offset enrollment fees. The Financial Aid Office determines student eligibility based on state guidelines and waives enrollment fees if eligible. Cal Grants A, B, C – Students can only receive one type of Cal Grant. California Student Aid Commission awards this state grant. Federal Work Study – Self Help Aid Work. Earn up to $3,000 in an academic year. Applying for federal financial aid is free! Apply on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov NOTE: Fees shown are those in effect at the time of publishing and are subject to change*. Fees may be paid by cash, check, VISA or MasterCard for the exact amount. *The District reserves the right to change enrollment and non-resident tuition fees, based on state legislation. STEP 6 HARTNELL COLLEGE FEES Student Fee Collection Policy Change: Register Between Submit BOG fee waiver for Summer 2013* Last Day to Pay April 8 – April 18 Tuesday, April 16, 2013 Thursday, April 18, 2013 April 19 – May 9 Tuesday, May 7, 2013 Thursday, May 9, 2013 May 10 – May 30 Tuesday, May 28, 2013 Thursday, May 30, 2013 May 31 – June 13 Tuesday, June 11, 2013 Thursday, June 13, 2013 *The BOG fee waiver program waives enrollment/tuition fees for eligible California residents for the 2012-2013 academic year. Students who submit a BOG fee waiver in the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 term do not have to resubmit a fee waiver for the Summer 2013. All students are required to pay their full balance for Summer 2013 fees and any remaining fees or be dropped from ALL of their Summer 2013 classes. Those requiring financial assistance should register for financial aid early. If you are a financial aid student or need financial assistance, stop by the Financial Aid Office to ensure that your financial aid will be processed by the deadline, you must submit one of the two documents listed below: 1. You must complete and submit your 2012-2013 FAFSA electronically before April 3, 2013 or 2. You must submit your paper BOGW fee waiver to the Financial Aid Office before the deadline dates indicated above. If you are a Veteran (VA) Student, you must see the VA Representative, by Monday April 8, 2013 to ensure you will not be dropped for non-payment for Summer 2013. If you are a Department of Rehabilitation Student, you must submit a voucher from the Department of Rehabilitation to Hartnell’s Cashier’s Office by Monday April 8, 2013 to ensure you will not be dropped for non-payment for Summer 2013. DON’T WAIT IN LINE, PAY ON-LINE! In addition to paying your fees at the Cashiers’ Office, you can pay your fees over the phone or on-line through PAWS. OBTAIN YOUR GED FOR FREE HEP is funded by the US Department of Education Office of Migrant Education.HEP is a migrant education program designed to assist migrant and seasonal field workers obtain their GED and either employment, military service, apprenticeship, Certificate of Skills Acquisition, Certificate of Achievement, or Associates Degree. The High School Equivalency Program (HEP) ELIGIBILITY: - A person, and/or his or her immediate family member, must have spent a minimum of 75 days during the past 24 months as a migrant or seasonal field worker - Not have earned a secondary school diploma or its equivalent - Not currently enrolled in an elementary or secondary school - Be 18 years of age or over, or beyond the age of compulsory school attendance in the state in which he or she resides - Be determined by HEP to need the academic and supporting services and financial assistance provided by the project in order to attain the equivalent of a secondary school diploma and to gain employment or be placed in an IHE or other postsecondary education or training. 63
