HE<br />
What will I study?<br />
This exciting course is a partnership with the Academy of Music and<br />
Sound – Scotland's first 'Rock School'. You will work towards<br />
improving your ability on your Primary instrument – guitar, bass,<br />
drums or vocals. The HNC is a progression opportunity from the<br />
National Certificate/Diploma in Music. You will rehearse and<br />
perform as part of a live band. Performance opportunities include<br />
live gigs with student bands in local venues working with a wide<br />
range of music styles such as rock, pop, funk, heavy metal, R & B,<br />
soul and Emo.<br />
Mid term weeks include master class workshops with well-known<br />
professionals in the industry. The Academy of Music and Sound is<br />
based at Red Dog Music in <strong>Edinburgh's</strong> Grassmarket.<br />
What are the entry requirements?<br />
English language level of IELTS level 5.5 or equivalent. Entry is by<br />
assessment (based on level of instrument skills and musical<br />
knowledge) and interview. Not suitable for beginners.<br />
Can I go on to further study?<br />

You may progress to University level music courses or professional<br />
work.<br />
