Vocational courses
The College offers a range of fulltime
vocational courses, from
Foundation level through to HND.
Higher National Certificate and
Diploma courses (equivalent to
Foundation Degrees) are very
popular with overseas students.
Access or Foundation Courses
You must have IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL
Paper 500, TOEFL CBT 173, TOEFL IBT
60 and have completed a minimum
of middle school (10 years of
education) or a High School Diploma
with good marks in subjects relating
to what you want to study e.g. 55%.
Higher National Courses
Taking a Higher National (HN) course
means that you study at university
level, but still receive the support
and individual attention that the
College offers.
Agreements with universities mean
that a good student can move into
the second year of a university course
after HNC (1 year of study) or third
year after HND (2 years of study).
As studying at college costs less than
at university, you can complete your
university Degree in the same time
but more cheaply.
Course Content
An HNC consists of 12 units, while
an HND has 30. Each unit represents
a notional 40 hours of delivery,
including some directed self-study,
generally with continuous
assessment. Work experience is an
important part of many HN courses.
Entry Requirements
IELTS 5.5 or equivalent, e.g. TOEFL
Paper 513 and above, TOEFL CBT 183
and above, TOEFL IBT 65 and above.
You must have a High School Diploma
with good marks in subjects relating
to what you want to study (e.g. 55%
at 10+2 in India). When you arrive in
college, you will have to show the
original High School Diploma and a
translation, if necessary
Progression
On completing our HND courses,
over 92% of students move directly
into employment or onto Higher
Education. We have many links with
UK universities and students
completing an HND may also apply
for the Fresh Talent: Post Study
Work Scheme.
Please note: For internship courses,
the internship depends on successful
completion of year 1 and
recommendation by your Course Tutor.
It is not a guaranteed placement.
Tutors will support students in finding
a suitable placement.
