Directions<br />
For this skills evaluation checklist, students will deploy a portable water tank. This skill sheet is written for<br />
a jet siphon. A plain siphon, commercial tank-connecting device, permanent tank gravity drain, or drain<br />
tunnel connector may also be used. Remind students to always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for<br />
the specific equipment they are using. Students will work with another student to perform this skill. After<br />
actual use, the tarps, tanks, and siphons will be wet and dirty. They must be cleaned and dried before<br />
storage.<br />
Equipment & Materials<br />
• Apparatus-mounted portable reservoirs • Siphon and appropriate siphon hose/tubing or<br />
other means of transferring water from one tank to<br />
another<br />
• Reservoir manufacturer’s setup instructions • Two heavy tarps<br />
• Protective clothing<br />
