Directions<br />

For this skills evaluation checklist, students will correctly conserve property as a member of a team, given<br />

salvage tools and equipment and an assignment, so that the building and its contents are protected from<br />

further damage.<br />

Equipment & Materials<br />

• Full protective clothing • Furniture or other items to cover<br />

• Salvage cover • Two pike poles<br />

1. Open the salvage cover and lay it out flat at desired location.<br />

<strong>Task</strong> Steps 1 st 2nd<br />

2. Place pike poles at opposite ends of the salvage cover with the pike<br />

extending off the end of the cover.<br />

3. Roll the edges over the pike poles toward the middle until there is a 3-foot<br />

width between the rolls.<br />

4. Turn the cover over, keeping the folds in place.<br />

5. Place the chute to collect and channel water.<br />

6. Extend the other end out a door or window.<br />
