<strong>Manual</strong>ly stop the flow of water from a sprinkler.<br />
<strong>Task</strong> Steps 1st 2nd<br />
Wedge<br />
1. Place and climb ladder safely to within reach of the sprinkler.<br />
2. Insert the wedges between the sprinkler arms, flat sides against<br />
sprinkler.<br />
3. Drive the wedges into the sprinkler with the heel of hand until<br />
water flow stops.<br />
<strong>Task</strong> Steps 1st 2nd<br />
Clamp-Type Sprinkler Tongs<br />
1. Place and climb ladder safely, to within reach of sprinkler.<br />
2. Insert the tongs into the sprinkler between the arms.<br />
3. Open the tongs (by clamping the handles together) until water<br />
flow stops.<br />
4. Lock the tongs in open position, with the keeper pulled as far as it<br />
will go toward end of handles.<br />
<strong>Task</strong> Steps 1st 2nd<br />
Swivel-Type Sprinkler Tongs<br />
1. Place and climb the ladder safely to within reach of the sprinkler.<br />
2. Insert the tongs into the sprinkler between the arms.<br />
3. Open the tongs with handle swiveled upward.<br />
4. Turn the locking knob clockwise to lock the tongs in the open<br />
position.<br />
