SEXUAL ASSAULT
1. If the assault is witnessed, do not attempt to interfere or apprehend the assailant. Call
911 immediately.
2. If the person assaulted or who knows of the incident should contact Security or
Associate Director of Student Services. 911 should be contacted immediately.
3. Security or the Associate Director of Student Services will gather information and
complete the Incident Report Form. The Associate Director of Student Services will file
internal reports.
4. Campus authorities can assist a student in reporting violations at a student’s request.
5. If the alleged perpetrator is a student, Associate Director of Student Services will pursue
for further investigation and disciplinary action.
6. Student Services personnel will be available to assist and provide support services,
emotional support, and referral to local hospitals, the Wellness Corporation, crisis
programs, and sexual assault programs.
7. Depending on the nature and the circumstances of the incident the Associate Director of
Student Services, with input from the Executive Committee and the Senior Director of
Communications may prepare a statement.
Long Term/Preventative:
Ongoing training on sexual assault awareness, prevention and procedures for staff, faculty,
residence staff, and students.
Awareness/educational programs to promote awareness and prevention of rape and other
sexual offenses.
