FALL OF FOREIGN GOVERNMENT/WAR
Crisis: Foreign governments, which declare war against other countries, which are invaded
by an aggressor country, or which are overthrown by its own people, create difficult
situations for their citizens who are temporarily studying abroad.
- Student Services will contact the student’s Consulate and the US Immigration and
Naturalization Service, if possible, to determine student options for returning home or
remaining in the US respectively.
- Student Services will contact students who are directly affected by this event to ask
about their concerns, to answer questions, and to determine if they are safe (i.e. are
others directing negative comments at these students).
- The Associate Director of Student Services will find out financial impact on student, if
any. Student may need assistance (food, lodging, tuition, etc.) until the situation
stabilizes. The Associate Director of Student Services will work with the Executive
Committee to determine the level of support and assistance.
- Student Services may set meetings with students to review what is happening and how
they are impacted. Relay information to the President.
- The Associate Director of Student Services will inform the Senior Director of
Communications of students attending Argosy University from the affected countries in
case the media contacts the campus or campus officials.
