NOTIFYING FAMILY MEMBERS
A member of the Executive Committee should be informed prior to contacting family members
of a student or employee injury or illness.
In the case of an injury or illness, in most cases, the student or employee can indicate who
should be notified. In cases where a student cannot provide that information, the academic file
in the student file room contains emergency contact information. The Human Resources
Department can provide emergency contact information for faculty and staff.
In the event of a serious or life threatening injury, illness, or death, the Associate Director of
Student Services should be contacted immediately to assist with notifying the family. Notification
regarding a student should be done by the Associate Director of Student Services and
Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs. Notification regarding an employee should be
done by the President and the Human Resources Generalist.
