USATF's Outstanding Age-Group<br />
Athlete of the Year . . . Again!<br />
One of <strong>Hammer</strong> <strong>Nutrition</strong>'s longtime clients and a<br />
lifetime friend of ours, Bill Riley, was selected by<br />
USATF as Outstanding Athlete of the Year in his<br />
age group (75-79) for 2012. It was the sixth year,<br />
out of the past seven, that "the ageless one" has<br />
received this award, which is based primarily on age<br />
grading but also on the variety and significance of<br />
the races. In typical fashion, being one of the most<br />
humble athletes we've ever known, Bill commented,<br />
"I did 21 races this year so I was bound to hit a<br />
couple good ones." Fact is that most-to-all of Bill's<br />
races ended up being age-graded above 88, with<br />
his top-graded race being the New England 5K<br />
Championships, in which his time of 20 minutes, 53<br />
seconds earned him 92.01 points.<br />
