Audio Signal Generator designed for
testing drive-in theatre speakers, "The
Hummer" is equipped with a standard
1
4" plug to be plugged into booth amplifier
in place of usual intermission tape
player.
Operates on 9 V. DC supplied by Dormeyer
Charger shown at left or may be operated by a 9
V. battery. Proper volume at speaker post is a
smooth clean humming signal which should be the
same at all posts. Defective speakers will rattle,
sound distorted or be low in volume. Shorts in field
wiring can be quickly located with "The Hummer."
Constant sound level makes it easier to determine
defects.
Not recommended for sound systems having transistor
output stage.
hints apply to all three lens holders.
• Adjust the guide jaws in case there ft
too much play or in case the mechanistr
jams.
Note:
Loosen only one of the jaws for
adjusting so that the original position
is not changed. Also remember to
grease the jaws and the guide rails occasionally.
• After dismantling the guide rail ann
lens holding bracket, re-adjust the whol
assembly to the standard 35mm aperture
checking the adjustment with the aid of a i
ing shutter, adjust it so that it cuts off th
light beam while the film is advanced. Fals
adjustment causes travel ghost images. Ac,
justing the rotating shutter is accomplishe,
by loosening the three hexagon screws <
the pressing disc (which retains the shutte
