White, president of Mid States Theatres, locally based circuit, announced the acquisition of three American Multi Cinema fourplexes effective March 23. Involved in the transactions were the J- Town 4, Raceland 4 and Westland 4, all located in the metropolitan Louisville area. Cleveland Woman Happily Remembers 'China Night' CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Plain Dealer's "From the Readers" column recently published a letter from Mrs. Bernadette Ruckgaber. who obviously is a longtime movie fan. Her comments "to the entertainment editor" follow: "Shades of yesteryear. Bank night! Bank nights are part of my memories of childhood and I hang onto all of those. Your (recent) story brought it all back. "No, I'm not about to tell you that any-: one, including my family, ever won any-i thing but milling around with my school friends in the crowd outside the Lyceum Theatre was part of my teen years. It was! your mention of 'china night' (which pre-; dated bank night) that prompted this letter.' Murray was graduated from Cleveland's Brooklyn High School, then studied at Miami University and abroad. "Mahler,'' a film by Kenneth Russell, and "Artur Rubenstein: Love of Life," a documentary, are on the Cleveland State University Film series this spring.
