1154 NFPA FIREFIGHTER II<br />

<strong>Fire</strong>fighting Curriculum<br />

This course is designed to take the student to the final level of firefighter as recognized by the National <strong>Fire</strong><br />

Protection Association (NFPA) and the International <strong>Fire</strong> Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC). Subjects<br />

include: incident management, building collapse and special rescue, hose tools and appliances, hydrant flow and<br />

operability, fire detection and alarm systems, fire cause, pre-incident planning, reports and communications<br />

and coordinating fire attack. Upon successful completion of written and skills testing, the firefighter will receive<br />

international recognition as a <strong>Fire</strong>fighter II by IFSAC.<br />

Prerequisite: 1153, 4501 (Challenge Exam), 3330 Basic Auto Extrication<br />

Hours: 44<br />

Students: Min: 15 Max: 20<br />

Fee: $5<br />

Grant fee: $440 each<br />

1160 TRUCK COMPANY AND SUPPORT OPERATIONS<br />

This course covers the operations traditionally assigned to truck companies, but which can and should be<br />

done at nearly every structural fire incident by any fire ground company. Topics include the functions usually<br />

performed by truck companies, the equipment necessary to perform those functions and operational strategy<br />

and tactics, including size-up.<br />

Prerequisite: None<br />

Hours: 16<br />

Students: Min: 15 Max: 20<br />

Fee: $25, Training-in-House $5<br />
