<strong>Fire</strong> Officer Curriculum<br />

2154 I-400 ADVANCED INCIDENT COMMAND<br />

This course provides training and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident<br />

command System (ICS). The target audience for this course is senior personnel who are expected to perform<br />

in a management capacity in an area command or multi-agency coordination entity. This course expands upon<br />

information covered in ICS-100 through ICS-300 courses.<br />

Prerequisite: 2148 or 2153, equivalent training comparable to I-100 through I-300<br />

Hours: 16<br />

Students: Min: 12 Max: 30<br />

Fee: $5<br />

2155 FIRE GROUND COMMAND SIMULATION<br />

This computer simulation course offers students the opportunity to practice and improve their tactical skills at<br />

a variety of fire-related incidents. This course helps to reinforce personnel and resource management<br />

skills, decision making skills and test department standard operating procedures/guidelines. In this interactive<br />

course, students will have the opportunity to practice: standardize arrival reports, size up a variety of fire-related<br />

incidents, plan tactical operations, conduct personnel accountability reports, conduct mayday events and<br />

critique operations at all levels.<br />

Prerequisite: 2137, 2147 or equivalent training comparable to I-100 and I-200<br />

Fee: $5<br />

2171 LEADERSHIP I: STRATEGIES FOR COMPANY SUCCESS<br />

This NFA course presents the basic leadership skills and tools needed to perform effectively in the fire service.<br />

It includes: techniques for problem solving, ways to identify and assess the needs of subordinates, methods for<br />

running meetings effectively, and decision-making skills for the company officer.<br />

Prerequisite: None<br />

Hours: 16<br />

Students: Min: 12 Max: 30<br />

Fee: $25, Training-in-House $5<br />

Grant fee: $750/Class<br />
