Textbook Information: Codes and standards are not provided as part of this course. All such books are the<br />
responsibility of the student. State statutes and <strong>Fire</strong> Marshal Rules & Regulations are provided in the Student<br />
Workbook which will be distributed the first day of class. Students are responsible for bringing the correct<br />
editions of the International Building, <strong>Fire</strong> Codes, and the NFPA Codes and Standards listed below. The correct<br />
books and editions will be verified on the first day of class.<br />

Electronic, online and handbook versions of these manuals are not permitted for this course. IFSTA <strong>Fire</strong> Inspection<br />
and Code Enforcement Manual (7th Edition) & Interactive Study Guide are included in the course fee<br />
and will be shipped upon acceptance into the course. The material must be read and completed as the precourse<br />
assignment prior to the first day of class.<br />
8510 SOUTH CAROLINA FIRE INCIDENT REPORTING SYSTEM TRAIN-THE-TRAINER<br />
This one-day class is designed to give the necessary skills needed to download, install and train the fire department<br />
on how to correctly complete incident reports using the Federal Incident Reporting Tool. Upon<br />
completion of this class, the student will have the tools necessary to install the free Federal Incident Reporting<br />
Tool software and train the fire department to complete and submit incident reports to the State <strong>Fire</strong> Marshal’s<br />
Office. Submission of incident reports to the State <strong>Fire</strong> Marshal’s Office qualifies a fire department as a<br />
participant in the SCFIRS and the NFIRS programs, as required through the Assistance to <strong>Fire</strong>fighters Grant<br />
program.<br />
