1.2.4 - ULTRASOUND BIOMICROSCOPY<br />
Ultrasound biomicroscopy (U.B.M.) of the anterior segment allows accurate visualization of the iris, iris root, corneoscleral<br />
junction, ciliary body, lens 9-13 .<br />
With this technique it is possible to elucidate the mechanism of angle-closure in almost every patient. Due to its limited<br />
availability <strong>and</strong> costs however, ultrasound biomicroscopy is usually applied to cases which are most difficult to<br />
interpret.<br />
