46 Youth Sports Continued GOLD MEDAL SPEED CAMPS SPEED – AGILITY – QUICKNESS – CONDITIONING CAMP Under the direction of Todd Brawner, Gold Medal Speed Camps utilize cutting edge training and teaching techniques designed to give you the edge on your competition. Camp participants will make significant improvements in speed, agility, quickness and conditioning. All activities at the training sessions are tied together, working to achieve total athletic development. Athletes from a wide variety of sports benefit from speed, agility and quickness development. Camp objectives include: Perfect Sprinting Mechanics – Faster Starts / Reaction Time – Power Development – Core Strength Development – Improved Agility and Change of Direction – Improved Hand-Eye Coordination – Improved Explosiveness/Jumping Ability – Improved Balance & Coordination – Improved Acceleration / 40yd Performance – Improved Flexibility – Improved Conditioning – Injury Prevention Equipment needed: All purpose gym shoes, t-shirt/shorts, water or sports drink. Youth Sports Continued 47 Volleyball Skills Camp for Boys Grades 6-9 For boys entering 6th through 9th grades with a strong interest in playing volleyball. Instruction will be provided on the proper fundamentals for serving, passing (defense), setting, attacking and blocking. Basic fundamental drills will develop individual player skills. Game strategy and teamwork will also be developed during games and other competitions. Campers should wear court shoes, workout clothes, and bring a water bottle. Each participant will receive a camp T-shirt. Ages: Boys entering 6th – 9th grade Location: Homestead High School Field House Dates: July 21 - 25 Time: 8:00am – 10:00am Fee: Resident $82/Non-Resident $89 Course #: 317140 Min/Max: 20/68 Registration: The deadline for registration is one week prior to start date Instructor: Phil Lambe, HHS Boys Volleyball Coach. Boys & Girls Volleyball Skills & Competitions Camp Grades 10-12 For boys and girls entering grades 10 – 12 with previous high school team experience. Each session will begin with participants practicing and refining skills through serving, passing, team and individual defense, attacking, and blocking. Players will then spend time developing team concepts through various competitions, mini tournaments and contests. Every camper will develop and refine the necessary skills to be competitive at the high school level. Each participant will receive a camp T-shirt. CO-ED TRACK & FIELD CAMP The Co-Ed Track & Field Camp offers quality instruction for both running and field events. Participants will be exposed to all events early in the week and they can choose which event group they want to concentrate on. The camp will end with a track meet the final day. The camp is run under the direction of Dan Benson, Homestead High School Boys Track Coach. Prerequisites: Participants should bring a water bottle.
