Intro to Video Game Design<br />

Design, create and edit your own arcade-style video game. Design the action, create the characters and edit<br />

the objectives and outcomes. You’ll receive information to download your own free copy of the software at the<br />

last session so that you can keep designing at home. Think Donkey Kong, Pac Mac…your very own creation to<br />

challenge family and friends!<br />

Lego Moviemaking<br />

Students work in small groups to create and develop an adventure movie using 10,000+++ Lego pieces, props and<br />

minfigures. Each team will take stop action photos for editing and creating action for their film. This class provides<br />

an opportunity to explore the fun of making a movie from storyboarding to video techniques to post-production,<br />

including adding sound effects, music and dialogue. Optional - Bring along a Flash drive if you want to take your<br />

award winning production home. Lights, Camera, Action…..Let the fun begin!<br />

Lego Mindstorms<br />

Students will work together in small groups to design and build a robot which is programmed (via PC) to meet<br />

a variety of challenges and objectives. Lego Mindstorm kits will allow you to explore: programming the RCS,<br />

applying light sensors, touch sensors and working with wheeled and tracked robots. Objectives are selected to<br />

challenge the students at a rate that is appropriate for their skill levels. This class is for the student who likes to be<br />

challenged in a fun and friendly environment.<br />
