September 10 - At least 5 people were killed Friday in Mogadishu, two days after 7 civilians were<br />

killed by Somali government soldiers opened fire at a food aid distribution center, Radio Garowe<br />

reports.<br />

Friday‘s deadly explosion occurred at Suk Ba‘ad in north Mogadishu, with witnesses saying that<br />

at least to Somali soldiers were among the 5 dead victims. ―It was a big explosion…I saw 10<br />

wounded persons,‖ said a witness who declined to say his name, adding that a ―huge smoke‖<br />

followed the bombing.<br />

September 10 - Even one week after Puntland‘s military offensive against north of Galkaio<br />

residents [mainly Garsor village] the toll of civilian casualties have rose up. The heavy<br />

unprecedented military attack against Garsor residents which started on Thursday September 1st<br />

engulfed at least 68 people while 153 others were wounded, health officials and local elders<br />

confirmed.<br />

Health officials and local elders told RBC Radio that at least 68 people were killed and 153 were<br />

wounded in Puntland‘s military attack against Galkaio‘s north residents. Women, children and<br />

men are among the casualties.<br />

September 8 - A Somali government soldier has shot and killed at least five people at a food aid<br />

distribution site in the capital, Mogadishu. At least three others were wounded in the incident in<br />

Mogadishu's Waberi district Thursday. Witnesses say the soldier, one of a group that was<br />

guarding the food, opened fire after people waiting in line got out of control and began pushing<br />

and shoving.<br />

September 7 - At least three people have been killed in Mogadishu artillery shelling overnight,<br />

witnesses said Wednesday. About 9am on Tuesday night, three salvos of artillery bombardments<br />

were pounded several neighborhoods north of Mogadishu. Local residents told Shabelle Media<br />

Network that at least 6 civilians were also hurt in the barrages overnight.<br />

September 4 - Unknown armed men have fired at a civilian minibus traveling in southern <strong>Somalia</strong><br />

killing at least 5 people, witnesses said on Sunday. The fatal incident took place in a street<br />

between the Balad district and Jowhar town in Middle Shabelle region.Witnesses also said that at<br />

least 8 of passengers were wounded in the shooting incident.<br />
