A recent Human Rights Watch investigation found that all of the parties to the armed conflict have<br />

been responsible for indiscriminate attacks on civilians since May 2010. Some of these attacks<br />

may amount to war crimes.<br />

The intense fighting in Mogadishu, the capital, between the Islamist armed group al-Shabaab and<br />

the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and African Union peacekeepers over the<br />

past eight months has killed and wounded thousands of civilians and forced all but the poorest<br />

residents to flee the capital.<br />

Feb 14 - At least seven Somali civilians have been killed as a result of fresh clashes between<br />

African Union troops and Al-Shabaab fighters.<br />

Clashes between African Union troops and Al-Shabaab fighters in the southern sector of<br />

<strong>Somalia</strong>'s capital city, Mogadishu, broke out on Monday, a Press TV correspondent reported.<br />

At least seven civilians have been killed and 30 others injured in the deadly crossfire, which has<br />

forced hundreds of residents to flee the area.<br />

Feb 11 - At least 11 people were killed overnight Wednesday in the Somali capital Mogadishu in<br />

steet battles between government forces and insurgents, Radio Garowe reports.<br />

The fighting was concentrated in Mogadishu's Bondhere district, as Somali government forces<br />

backed by African Union peacekeepers (AMISOM) fought against Al Qaeda-affiliated Al Shabaab<br />

insurgents. Witnesses said all the 10 people killed in the fighting were civilians. But it was<br />

unknown the number of casualties on the side of TFG/AMISOM forces and Al Shabaab<br />

insurgents.<br />

Separately, two explosions in Wadajir and Dharkinley districts killed at least 1 person and<br />

wounded 20 civilians. The target of the explosions of Somali government soldiers, witnesses<br />

added.<br />

February 11 - Last night two separate attacks occurred in Wadajir in the Mogadishu‘s capital city<br />

of <strong>Somalia</strong> after unknown men attacked government soldiers in Mogadishu.<br />

The first one attacked checkpoint of the Government soldiers in Wadajir district killing two people<br />

including government soldiers and more than 6 people wounded some of them were serious<br />

condition.<br />

The place the attacks occurred is a very busy road and the government forces have not talked<br />

about this attack.<br />
