July 11 - Gunmen opened fire at civilians in Bacaadweyn village in Galkacyo District on 11/07.<br />
Three persons were killed. The motive of the attack remains unascertained. Unconfirmed reports<br />
indicate that it was related to revenge killing. The perpetrators escaped from the scene.<br />

July 10 - Armed bandits opened fire at a civilian vehicle in the Afgooye Corridor on 08/07. Two<br />
passengers were killed and their bodies taken to Baidoa where they hailed from. Reports indicate<br />
that one of the victims was a prominent businessman from Baidoa town. The motive of the attack<br />
remains unclear.<br />

June 19 - AS militants clashed with local farmers in Qoryooley on 19/05. The clash reportedly<br />
followed an attempt to tax the farmers in kind. One farmer was reportedly killed and two others<br />
were injured.<br />

June 17 - A landmine/UXO exploded in Xamar Bile neighbourhood (Wardhiiley) in the evening of<br />
17/06. Two people were killed and four others, including a journalist working for Radio Simba,<br />
were injured.<br />

June 17 - RCIED targeted the car of the chairman of the Hawiye clan Mohamed Hasan Xad in<br />
Xamar Bile neighbourhood (Wardhiigley) in the evening of 17/06. The chairman declared to the<br />
media that two of his security guards were injured and a civilian bystander was killed by the blast.<br />
The vehicle was heading towards the house of the Spokesman of the Hawiye clan elders when<br />
the attack took place.<br />

May 24 - At least five people were killed when a shell hit the minibus they were using to flee<br />
fighting in a town north west of the capital, as African Union and government soldiers intensify<br />
their fight against al Shabaab militants. Earlier this week, African Union and Somali government<br />
troops stepped up their attacks on al Shabaab militants in Mogadishu's northern outskirts, forcing<br />
hundreds of families to flee their makeshift homes and head for the city centre.<br />

May 19 - Somali officials say two blasts killed at least five people and injured six others in the<br />
Somali capital. Police officer Mohamed Aden said Saturday that the first bomb exploded in the<br />
sprawling Bakara market, where Somali police were conducting operations to demolish illegal<br />
kiosks and business sites along the streets of Mogadishu. He said the bomb killed one and<br />
