Oct. 5 - More than 30 people have been killed and 51 others were wounded in three days of<br />

heavy fighting between soldiers of UN's backed government backing by AMISOM and Alshabaab<br />

fighters that erupted in Somali capital of mogadishu, Radio Garowe reports.<br />

Fighting carried many casualties to innocent civilians in the past three days which exploded in<br />

northern part of <strong>Somalia</strong>, injured dozen people mostly fighters. "We killed many government<br />

soldiers include pro-government troops, we burn a tanker," Hizbul Islam spokesman said.<br />

However, witnesses said that pro-government seized new bases on Monday. According to a<br />

witness who spoke with Garowe Online, several mortar shells landed in and around the Bakara<br />

market -- the biggest and busiest market in Somali capital, killed many civilians and injured dozen<br />

others when Islamist fired AU troops.<br />

Oct. 3 - At least 11 civilians have been killed and several others injured in clashes between<br />

warring factions fighting for control of positions in the Somali capital Mogadishu.The clashes<br />

broke on Saturday when al-Shabab and Hizbul Islam fighters attacked positions of Somali<br />

government forces in the northern districts of Hodon and Hawlwadag. The pro-government<br />

forces, backed by African Union troops, fired salvos of mortars at the crowded Bakara market,<br />

which claimed the lives of 11 people and left 14 others injured, the Press TV correspondent in<br />

Mogadishu reported.<br />

Sept 27- At least four people have been confirmed dead after the Transitional Federal<br />

Government Forces supported by the African Union peacekeepers clashed with Al-Shabaab<br />

militias in the capital.<br />

The fighting has started when Al-Shabaab militias shelled the Golaha Shaabka parliament<br />

buildings with grenades and mortar attacks. A parliamentary meeting was going on during that<br />

time. TFG and AMISOM forces have responded and later on the fighting spread towards the<br />

Bakara market.<br />

A mortar attack that hit the vegetable section of the Bakara market is reported to have killed<br />

three people while another one that hit a bus terminus killed one person. Civilians living in<br />

Mogadishu are the most affected by the ongoing violence in Mogadishu who are not involved in<br />

Sept 25 - Somali businessmen on Saturday called on the Somali Transitional Federal<br />

Government and African Union peacekeepers to stop shelling Bakara, the largest and busiest<br />

market in the Somali capital.<br />
