launch this new healthcare for our troops, especially those who get injury and face the dangers<br />
when they are defending the government from the attacks of the militia groups‖, said <strong>Somalia</strong>‘s<br />
president Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.<br />
Present at the launch ceremony of the hospital that is located inside the presidential palace in<br />
Mogadishu, were officers from the AU peacekeeping force and other senior government officials.<br />
―…We are proud to have such a hospital for our troops, because it is known that our armed forces<br />
have long been forgotten and neglected by the government, having so much problems in<br />
Mogadishu, but we will soon solve these problems, and we will get back to where we once were,<br />
we will provide the needed services to our people and forces….‖, said the Somali prime minister<br />
Mohamed Cabdullahi Mohamed known as Farmajo.<br />
The latest fighting that hit the capital of <strong>Somalia</strong> Mogadishu between the Somali troops with the<br />
help of AU force and Al shabaab has killed 15 people including civilians and injured more,<br />
witnesses told Horseed Media on Saturday.<br />

Dec 16 - Heavy fighting with bitter shelling between the transitional government of <strong>Somalia</strong><br />
backing by the African Union troops AMISOM broke out in parts of the Somali capital Mogadishu<br />
on Thursday according to witnesses.<br />
The fighting started at the war zones in Hodan and Hawl-wadag districts in Mogadishu as the<br />
Islamist fighters attacked bases of the transitional government soldiers and AMISOM in the areas,<br />
killing 6, while many others wounded during the clashes between the two sides.<br />
Witnesses said that AMISOM targeted shelling to Bakara market while several people killed,<br />
wounding other, but Major Barigye Bahuko, the spokesman of AMISOM had denied the<br />
allegations that AMISOM shelled to Bakara market.<br />
Al-shabab spokesman claimed victory over fighting in north Mogadishu adding that they had<br />
seized military bases of AMISOM and transitional government troops in north of the capital<br />
Mogadishu.<br />
Health officials said that more wounded civilians were rushed to Medina hospital in south of the<br />
capital Mogadishu.<br />

Dec 11 – A fresh round of clashes between government troops and al-Shabab fighters has left at<br />
least 15 people dead in <strong>Somalia</strong>, which remains gripped in a wave of reprisal attacks.<br />
Fierce shelling and gun battles erupted in the restive capital of Mogadishu on late Friday, and<br />
spilled over into the northern neighborhoods of Hodan Hawlwadag, Abdiasis, and Yaqshid and<br />
Bondhere, killing at least 10 people and injuring many others, a Press TV correspondent reported<br />
Saturday.<br />
According to witnesses, the latest spate of fighting, which was accompanied by incessant<br />
shelling, was in retaliation to an earlier attack by al-Shabab fighters on a military base housing<br />
pro-government forces.<br />
Hospital officials say that the violence claimed the lives of at least 10 civilians; however, other<br />
reports indicate that some government soldiers were also among the casualties.<br />
