16 March - Clashes broke out in Somali-Kenyan border town between <strong>Somalia</strong> pro-government<br />
forces and Al-Shabaab militants left 10 people dead and others injured on Wednesday, residents<br />
told Garowe Online. Witnesses at Buulo-Hawo district in Southern <strong>Somalia</strong> said residents found<br />
the body of two dead civilians and eight other bodies from the warring sides. According to<br />
residents in Mandera, a neighbouring district in Kenyan soil, two civilians dead after stray-bullet<br />
hit them at their houses.<br />

March 15 – More than 20 civilians have been killed and 30 more others wounded in Mogadishu<br />
on Tuesday after heavy shelling between Al-shabab and the troops of the transitional government<br />
of <strong>Somalia</strong> backing by the African Union troops AMISOM. Reports say that about 8 mortar shells<br />
landed at Ex-fiyore compound, the houses of the National singers of <strong>Somalia</strong> near the national<br />
theatre of <strong>Somalia</strong> killed innocent civilians there.<br />

March 9 - A fresh round of clashes have rocked <strong>Somalia</strong>'s restive capital Mogadishu, leaving at<br />
least ten civilians dead and more than a dozen others injured, witnesses say. Fierce clashes<br />
broke out late Tuesday in the northern district of Hodan, pitting al-Shabab fighters against the<br />
government soldiers backed by the African Union forces. Witnesses told Press TV that seven<br />
civilians, including three women, were killed in the shelling that rocked the busy Bakara market.<br />

March 5- Fighting between African Union troops, Somali government forces, pro-government<br />
militiamen on one side and Al-Shabaab and its allies on the other end killed at least 21 people<br />
and injured over 40 others in the Somali capital, Radio Garowe Reports. Mogadishu ambulance<br />
service officials said they have saw 11 dead bodies of civilians and assisted more than 10<br />
wounded people who are currently admitted in various hospitals across the restive capital.<br />

Feb 28 - Fighting in Southern <strong>Somalia</strong> killed at least 36 people on Sunday as government troops<br />
and rebel fighters clash in third day, witnesses and residents said.<br />
Residents said pro-government soldiers backed by Ethiopian forces engaged <strong>Somalia</strong>'s main<br />
opposition fighter, Al-Shabaab in their strongholds of Bula Hawo where the scene of heavy<br />
exchanges of shell and gunfire between the two sides ensued since dawn.<br />
According to eyewitnesses, 21 civilians were killed by mortars in the intense fighting around the<br />
resident houses. 32 others were wounded. However, Sheikh Ali Mohamud aka Ali Rage, a<br />
spokesman for Al-Shabaab said Kenyan government has allowed Ethiopian troops to attack us<br />
from Mandera town.<br />
