that the intraclass correlation coefficient is a more appropriate indicator of testretest
reliability compared to the Pearson’s correlation coefficient (see
Correlate Bivariate in the Analyze menu).
In Figure 44, suppose you want to examine whether five judges in gymnastics
are consistent in their rating of five different gymnasts. The interest is on the
consistency of the judges’ scores (i.e., good performances receive higher scores
than average or poor performances) rather than their absolute agreement (i.e.,
identical scores for the same gymnast). In other words, you are looking for nonsignificant
differences across the columns of Figure 44. Move the variables
judge1-5 in the Items box of Dialog box 96. Then click Statistics.
