PLAYSTATION “SHARKS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR” AWARD
This annual award was introduced in 1994-95 and is voted upon by Bay Area media to recognize the Sharks
player adjudged to be the best in his first season of NHL competition. Sony Computer Entertainment presented a
check for $2,500 to the Sharks Foundation as recognition of the winner’s accomplishment.

PLAYSTATION “THREE STARS OF THE GAME” AWARD
Introduced in 2003-04, this award recognizes the Sharks players who received the most credit for being selected
as one of the three stars of the game. Each No. 1 star selection earned five points, No. 2 stars received three
points and No. 3 stars got one point. The three stars are listed on the official NHL game sheet distributed by
the game’s official scorekeepers. The three stars are chosen by members of the media based on the player’s
performance each game. Sony Computer Entertainment presented a check for $2,500 to the Sharks Foundation
as recognition of the winner’s accomplishment.
