INDIVIDUAL PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS
JASON DEMERS
The defenseman led all Sharks with a plus-15. The second-year professional was second amongst Worcester
blue liners with 33 points in 78 games during his rookie season.
THOMAS GREISS
Worcester’s No. 1 goaltender in 2008-09 set a franchise record with 30 wins. Greiss started the last 16
games of the regular season, going 10-6 as he helped the Sharks reach the postseason for the second time in
the franchise’s three-year history. Greiss also started all 12 Calder Cup Playoff games and posted two shutouts.
WORCESTER SHARKS
DEREK JOSLIN
He was one of two Sharks to play in the AHL All-Star Classic and was one of 11 Worcester players to be
promoted to the NHL in 2008-09. Joslin was tied for third on Worcester with six power play goals.
CLAUDE LEMIEUX
The four-time Stanley Cup Champion and 20-year NHL veteran played in 23 games while attempting a
return to the NHL after being out of the game for five years. The 43-year-old right wing scored 11 points (three
goals and eight assists).
MIKE MOORE
The defenseman, who was signed by the San Jose Sharks as a free agent in 2008, was named Worcester’s
Rookie of the Year and Man of the Year in 2008-09 after scoring 18 points (five goals and 13 assists). The 24-
year-old quickly earned a reputation as one of the AHL’s best open ice hitters.
RYAN VESCE
Not only was the 5-foot-8 right wing invited to play in the 2009 AHL All-Star Game, Vesce led the team in
assists (47) and points (71, 13th in the AHL). His 24 goals were second on the team behind Riley Armstrong’s 25.
Vesce also set a club record with a 17-game point scoring streak (nine goals, 18 assists for 27 points) from Dec.
29-Feb. 15.
