INDIVIDUAL PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS<br />

JASON DEMERS<br />

The defenseman led all <strong>Sharks</strong> with a plus-15. The second-year professional was second amongst Worcester<br />

blue liners with 33 points in 78 games during his rookie season.<br />

THOMAS GREISS<br />

Worcester’s No. 1 goaltender in 2008-09 set a franchise record with 30 wins. Greiss started the last 16<br />

games of the regular season, going 10-6 as he helped the <strong>Sharks</strong> reach the postseason for the second time in<br />

the franchise’s three-year history. Greiss also started all 12 Calder Cup Playoff games and posted two shutouts.<br />

WORCESTER SHARKS<br />

DEREK JOSLIN<br />

He was one of two <strong>Sharks</strong> to play in the AHL All-Star Classic and was one of 11 Worcester players to be<br />

promoted to the <strong>NHL</strong> in 2008-09. Joslin was tied for third on Worcester with six power play goals.<br />

CLAUDE LEMIEUX<br />

The four-time Stanley Cup Champion and 20-year <strong>NHL</strong> veteran played in 23 games while attempting a<br />

return to the <strong>NHL</strong> after being out of the game for five years. The 43-year-old right wing scored 11 points (three<br />

goals and eight assists).<br />

MIKE MOORE<br />

The defenseman, who was signed by the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Jose</strong> <strong>Sharks</strong> as a free agent in 2008, was named Worcester’s<br />

Rookie of the Year and Man of the Year in 2008-09 after scoring 18 points (five goals and 13 assists). The 24-<br />

year-old quickly earned a reputation as one of the AHL’s best open ice hitters.<br />

RYAN VESCE<br />

Not only was the 5-foot-8 right wing invited to play in the 2009 AHL All-Star Game, Vesce led the team in<br />

assists (47) and points (71, 13th in the AHL). His 24 goals were second on the team behind Riley Armstrong’s 25.<br />

Vesce also set a club record with a 17-game point scoring streak (nine goals, 18 assists for 27 points) from Dec.<br />

29-Feb. 15.<br />
