Mike Aldrich<br />

Equipment Manager<br />

Mike Aldrich enters his 14th season as equipment manager for the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Jose</strong><br />

<strong>Sharks</strong>. In his 17th season with the organization, Aldrich served in the same capacity<br />

for the International Hockey League’s Kansas City Blades for the three seasons<br />

(1993-95) that Blades were the <strong>Sharks</strong> top development affiliate.<br />

Aldrich will serve as equipment manager for the U.S. Olympic Team for the<br />

2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. He also worked for Team USA for the 2005 World<br />

Championships and the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. In the summer of 2003, he served<br />

as the head equipment manager for Team USA at the World Championships in Finland.<br />

Besides overseeing the entire operation of the equipment staff, Aldrich handles the intricate requests of all<br />

<strong>Sharks</strong> players with regards to equipment, skate sharpening needs as well as all purchasing orders, inventory<br />

control and distribution for all equipment throughout the season.<br />

Aldrich, 45, handled all the equipment needs during the 1997 National Hockey League All-Star Game for the<br />

Western Conference team as well as the Heroes of Hockey teams.<br />

Before joining Kansas City, Aldrich worked at Michigan Tech University as the school’s equipment manager<br />

and athletic purchasing agent from 1989-93.<br />

During the 1995-96 season, Aldrich was selected as the Western Conference’s equipment manager for the<br />

IHL All-Star Game. He’s an active member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers (SPHEM).<br />

He’s also a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association.<br />

Aldrich and his wife Susie enjoy their summers water skiing in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. They have<br />

two sons: Brad is the video coach for the Chicago Blackhawks and Jason is a graduate assistant strength and<br />

conditioning coach at Michigan Tech University.<br />

Rick Bronwell<br />

Assistant Equipment Manager<br />

Rick Bronwell enters his third season as assistant equipment manager for the<br />

<strong>Sharks</strong>.<br />

Working alongside Head Equipment Manager Mike Aldrich, Bronwell handles<br />

all necessary equipment restoration, repair and customization of jerseys and the<br />

numbering and lettering, as well as inventorying of game jerseys.<br />

A certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association, Bronwell<br />

spent the previous five seasons as head equipment manager for the Houston Aeros<br />

of the American Hockey League, where he worked under current <strong>Sharks</strong> Head Coach Todd McLellan.<br />

In that role, Bronwell was responsible for all day-to-day duties of the team’s equipment maintenance, repair<br />

and inventory. A staff member of the Aeros 2003 Calder Cup Champions, Bronwell also served as the head<br />

equipment manger for Team Canada at the 2004 AHL All-Star Game.<br />

Before joining Houston, he was the head equipment manager in 2001-02 for the Atlantic City Boardwalk<br />

Bullies of the ECHL.<br />

From 1996-01, Bronwell was the assistant equipment manager with the Kansas City Blades of the<br />

International Hockey League and served as a game night assistant on the staff from 1992-96.<br />

He and his wife, Heather, have two daughters; Ashleigh and Addison.<br />

Roy Sneesby<br />

Equipment Assistant and Equipment Transportation<br />

Roy Sneesby enters his ninth season as equipment assistant and equipment<br />

transportation.<br />

Sneesby splits his duties between assisting the <strong>Sharks</strong> equipment staff on<br />

day-to-day equipment and locker room maintenance in addition to coordinating the<br />

efficient arrival and departure of both the <strong>Sharks</strong> and the visiting team’s equipment<br />

and supplies.<br />

From 1998-01, Sneesby served as the visiting locker room attendant for<br />

HP Pavilion at <strong>San</strong> <strong>Jose</strong>. In addition, Sneesby served on the equipment staff for<br />

Team USA during the 1998 Winter Olympic Games and attended the 2006 Winter Olympics, working for Easton<br />

Sports.<br />

Sneesby, who received his bachelor’s degree from <strong>San</strong> <strong>Jose</strong> State University, was born in Redwood City,<br />

Calif. and was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.<br />
