o<strong>the</strong>r subpoena which states that <strong>the</strong> student should not be<br />
notified. The Department’s Director <strong>of</strong> Legal Services shall be<br />
consulted prior to release <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> record.<br />
11. To an alleged victim <strong>of</strong> any crime <strong>of</strong> violence as that term is<br />
defined in Section 16 <strong>of</strong> Title 18, <strong>Unit</strong>ed States Code, or a<br />
non-forcible sex <strong>of</strong>fense, <strong>the</strong> final results <strong>of</strong> any disciplinary<br />
proceeding conducted by an institution <strong>of</strong> postsecondary<br />
<strong>edu</strong>cation against <strong>the</strong> alleged perpetrator <strong>of</strong> that crime or<br />
<strong>of</strong>fense with respect to that crime or <strong>of</strong>fense. The <strong>Technical</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> System <strong>of</strong> Georgia’s Legal Services shall be<br />
consulted prior to release <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> record.<br />
12. To Veterans Administration Officials pursuant to 38 U.S.C.<br />
3690 (c).<br />
13. Oconee Fall Line <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>College</strong> (<strong>OFTC</strong>) may disclose<br />
appropriately designated “directory information” without<br />
written consent unless <strong>the</strong> student has advised <strong>OFTC</strong> to <strong>the</strong><br />
contrary. Directory information, which is information that is<br />
generally not considered harmful or an invasion <strong>of</strong> privacy<br />
if released, can also be disclosed to outside organizations<br />
without <strong>the</strong> student’s prior written consent.<br />
If a student does not want <strong>OFTC</strong> to disclose directory<br />
information from his or her student <strong>edu</strong>cation records without<br />
prior written consent, <strong>the</strong> student must notify <strong>OFTC</strong> where he<br />
or she is enrolled in writing by <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> semester<br />
at <strong>the</strong> registrar’s <strong>of</strong>fice at his or her technical college. A<br />
student need only file this notification once during his or her<br />
enrollment. However, if a student enrolls in ano<strong>the</strong>r TCSG<br />
technical college, a new notification must be filed.<br />
Even if a student elects to prohibit <strong>the</strong> release <strong>of</strong> directory<br />
information, <strong>OFTC</strong> may still implement policies requiring <strong>the</strong><br />
student to wear or present a student ID badge.<br />
<strong>OFTC</strong> defines “directory information” as follows:<br />
• Full name <strong>of</strong> student<br />
• Address(es)<br />
• Telephone number(s)<br />
• County <strong>of</strong> residence<br />
• <strong>OFTC</strong> Email address(es)<br />
• Major and field(s) <strong>of</strong> study<br />
• Degrees and awards including nature and date received<br />
• Dates <strong>of</strong> attendance<br />
• Enrollment status (i.e., full or part-time)<br />
14. To <strong>the</strong> court those records that are necessary to defend<br />
Oconee Fall Line <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>College</strong> when a student initiates<br />
legal action against <strong>the</strong> institution and/or <strong>the</strong> Department.<br />
15. Oconee Fall Line <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>College</strong> may also disclose to<br />
any parent or legal guardian <strong>of</strong> a student under <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong><br />
21 information about a violation <strong>of</strong> any Federal state or local<br />
law, or any rule or policy <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>College</strong> governing<br />
<strong>the</strong> use or possession <strong>of</strong> alcohol or a controlled substance if<br />
<strong>the</strong> institution determines that <strong>the</strong> student has committed a<br />
disciplinary violation with respect to such use or possession.<br />
Recordkeeping Requirements<br />
Oconee Fall Line <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>College</strong> shall maintain a record <strong>of</strong><br />
requests for and/or disclosures <strong>of</strong> information from a student’s<br />
<strong>edu</strong>cation records. The record will indicate <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> party<br />
making <strong>the</strong> request and what records, if any, were received, <strong>the</strong><br />
legitimate interest in <strong>the</strong> records, any additional party to whom<br />
it may be redisclosed, and <strong>the</strong> legitimate interest <strong>the</strong> additional<br />
party had in requesting or obtaining <strong>the</strong> information. The record<br />
may be reviewed by <strong>the</strong> student. This recordkeeping is not<br />
required if <strong>the</strong> request was from, or <strong>the</strong> disclosure was to:<br />
• <strong>the</strong> student;<br />
• a school <strong>of</strong>ficial determined to have a legitimate <strong>edu</strong>cational<br />
interest;<br />
• a party with written consent from <strong>the</strong> student;<br />
• a party seeking directory information; or<br />
• a Federal grand jury or law enforcement agency pursuant to<br />
a subpoena that by its terms requires nondisclosure.<br />

Copies Of Students’ Records<br />
Students may receive an <strong>of</strong>ficial transcript <strong>of</strong> work attempted at<br />
Oconee Fall Line <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>College</strong>. A transcript fee <strong>of</strong> $5.00 will<br />
be required. A free transcript will be given to each graduate with<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir award.<br />
A signed release must be completed and given to <strong>the</strong> Registrar’s<br />
Office before a transcript can be released. Copies <strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
information in <strong>the</strong> student’s <strong>edu</strong>cation record will be provided on
