Argentina: BAC (g/l): 0.5 g/litre<br />

Text: It is prohibited <strong>to</strong> drive any type of vehicle with a BAC above 500 mg/litre. In the case of <strong>driving</strong> a<br />

mo<strong>to</strong>rcycle it is prohibited <strong>to</strong> drive with a BAC above 200 mg/litre. For public transport or cargo vehicles<br />

it is prohibited <strong>to</strong> drive with any BAC above 0.<br />

Botswana: BAC (g/l): 0.8 g/litre<br />

Text: The Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) is 80 mg/litre of blood. The BAC Testing Rules: – any driver maybe<br />

required by a police officer <strong>to</strong> provide a specimen of breath; – where such a person is, for reasons of<br />

injury or disability, unable <strong>to</strong> provide a specimen of breath, he may be required <strong>to</strong> provide a specimen of<br />

blood; – failure <strong>to</strong> provide any of the above samples will be treated as supporting any other evidence that<br />

the driver is unfit <strong>to</strong> drive <strong>and</strong> in addition will be liable <strong>to</strong> a charge of Failure <strong>to</strong> provide a sample.<br />

Singapore: BAC (g/l): 0.8 g/litre<br />

Text: Prior <strong>to</strong> taking a specimen of blood for analysis, the person’s breath will be tested by a police<br />

officer with the prescribed breath alcohol analyser. If he fails the test, he will then be required <strong>to</strong> provide<br />

at a hospital a specimen of his blood for a labora<strong>to</strong>ry test <strong>to</strong> determine the alcohol content in the blood.<br />

The current prescribed limits are: a) 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; or b) 80<br />

milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.<br />

Spain: BAC (g/l): 0.5 g/litre<br />

Text: For vehicles with 9 passenger seats, or <strong>to</strong>tal weight over 3500 kilograms, or vehicles transporting<br />

heavy goods, or public transport vehicles, a BAC limit of 0.3 g/litre applies. The BAC level for new drivers<br />

(who obtained <strong>driving</strong> licence within 2 years of the issue of the licence) is 0.3 g/litre.<br />
