REPORT FROM NON-STANDING COMMITTEES, LIAISON APPOINTMENTS AND
GENERAL REPORTS FROM COUNCIL
1. Report on Liaison Activities, General Report
Councillor Hockley reported on:
his attendance at an airport meeting before going on vacation earlier in the
month.
2. Report on Liaison Activities, General Report
Councillor Lamb reported on:
his attendance at the Wastewater Treatment Committee meeting. He noted
that the meeting was positive and there is now a signed agreement with an
Owner’s Technical Consultant.
3. Report on Liaison Activities, General Report
Councillor Lutes reported on:
taking a helicopter tour, courtesy of the Sunshine Coast Regional District
(SCRD), to survey the inlet, water intake and the landfill;
the final draft of the Chapman Creek Source Assessment Plan will be
released in September;
the recognition of the SCRD for its recycling accomplishment: a total of
1,962 kg of batteries were recycled;
her attendance at the Downtown Business Association and Chamber of
Commerce barbeque held at the Seaside Centre.
4. Report on Liaison Activities, General Report
Councillor Moore reported on:
his attendance at Airport Advisory meetings. He noted that the meetings were
positive and a business case for the airport is being developed;
his attendance at the Wastewater Treatment meeting. He stated that
Sechelt’s plans for a wastewater treatment facility will establish a ’best
practice’ provincially, in Western Canada and perhaps nationally;
