SAMPLE PROCESSING MANIFOLDS<br />
VacMaster Sample Processing Manifolds are used to<br />
process up to ten (VacMaster-10) or twenty<br />
(VacMaster-20) samples simultaneously. Designed<br />
to meet the most demanding criteria for safety,<br />
extract purity, flexibility and ease-of-use, the<br />
VacMaster manifolds provide productivity enhancements<br />
in many applications. Both VacMaster-10 and<br />
-20 manifolds are supplied complete with thick<br />
walled glass tank, PTFE lid, fine vacuum control and<br />
vacuum safety valve, inert polyethylene collection<br />
tube rack, port sealing plugs and replaceable stainless<br />
steel needles that are compatible with all<br />
industry standard Luer tipped SPE columns.<br />

Versatile Collection Rack<br />
Resistant to commonly used organic solvents, acids and basics, the VacMaster collection rack is constructed from<br />
inert material. Spacing between each rack plate is fully adjustable, to fit a wide range of collection vessels. The<br />
carrying handle makes lifting and transporting fully loaded racks easy and safe. Racks with alternative diameter<br />
holes are available through our Custom Manufacturing Service.<br />
Stopcock Options<br />
We recommend VacMaster-10 or -20 manifolds are fitted with PTFE stopcocks for optimum flow control. For a<br />
totally inert system, the standard stainless steel needles can be replaced with optional one piece PTFE needles<br />
or stopcock/needle units (see page 105). Both have excellent solvent resistance and smooth operation without<br />
sticking.<br />
Safety Features<br />
Biohazard safety: for hazardous matrices such as plasma or urine, unique design features and operating procedures<br />
provide a safer working system. With the lid mounted vacuum controls, it is possible to use one tank<br />
to process samples, and dedicate a second tank for analyte elution only, avoiding any contamination. Both tanks<br />
can be processed using the same vacuum source, connected with the PTFE T-valve (see page 105). All components<br />
are easy to clean.<br />
Vacuum safety: Each system is fully tested under a strict vacuum cycling regime to ensure safe operation. A<br />
vacuum safety valve is fitted as standard to prevent safe vacuum levels being exceeded.<br />
