ISOLUTE Cation Exchange Sorbents<br />
ISOLUTE cation exchange sorbents are used for extraction of basic compounds. The weak cation exchange<br />
sorbent, ISOLUTE CBA, is suitable for the extraction of strongly basic analytes (e.g. quaternary amines) or<br />
analytes that are unstable under basic conditions. The sorbent’s negative charge can be eliminated by pH<br />
control, for analyte elution.<br />
Strong cation exchange sorbents (ISOLUTE SCX-2 and SCX-3) are used for extraction of weakly basic<br />
compounds, as they retain a permanent negative charge across the pH range. Analytes are eluted from strong<br />
cation exchange sorbents by eliminating the charge on the analyte.<br />
