Re-Entry/Cal WORKs Center
The Re-Entry/CalWORKs Center at Golden West College
provides specialized support services for economically
disadvantaged parent(s) who are receiving CalWORKs/TANF
benefits. Services include individualized counseling, career
assessment, transportation assistance, temporary child
care, book bag and school supplies, free student success
workshops, job development assistance, work-study or
internship opportunities, and assistance in resume preparation
and job interviewing skills. Through personal attention and
motivation, the Re-Entry/CalWORKs staff is dedicated to
providing assistance and support to ensure student success
and job/career preparation to obtain meaningful employment.

counseling appointment will be scheduled for you.
Student Activities Office
The Student Activities Office is located on the second
floor of the Student Center. The office provides a variety
of services sponsored by the students and governing
boards. Students can obtain information about campus life
activities, student government, clubs, discount amusement
park & movie tickets, locker rentals on-campus and
much more.
The Student Center is a state-of-the-art facility which includes
food services, an internet café, game room and student lounge.

Student Health Center
Student Health Services (SHS) is a health clinic on campus
that supports student success by promoting and maintaining
student health. The SHS uses a holistic approach that
incorporates physical, emotional and social needs. The SHS is
100% funded by the student health fee.
Services include: Licensed professional staff: Medical Doctors,
Registered Nurses, Clinical Psychologists; Private and
confidential; Free or low cost services; Basic Medical care; Mental
health counseling; Social services; Medications; Laboratory
services; Women’s health/breast, pelvic and Pap exams and
birth control; Pregnancy and STD testing; Health screening;
TB testing, immunizations, and flu shots; Substance abuse
counseling; Smoking cessation; Health education; Referral to
campus and community health resources

Mon & Tue - 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Wed - 9:30 am to 5:15 pm,

Location: Far south side of campus in the Nursing and Health
Services building, next to the Edinger street parking lot. Health
Center is on the ground floor. The entrance is in the breezeway
on the west end of the building.
Student Computer Center
The Student Computer Center provides current Golden West
College students a laboratory with high speed Internet access
on computers (including Macintosh computers), color printing,
scanning, Microsoft Office 2007, Digital Art’s software, and
other course supported software to increase the probability of
student success. Students must currently be earning units at
Golden West College to enroll in this class.
To use the Student Computer Center students must register for
Learning Skills 922.

Transfer Center
The Transfer Center is dedicated to help students transfer
successfully to a four-year university. We serve as a resource
center for potential transfer student: providing a complete
library of college and university catalogs, Transfer and testing
applications, articulation information, individual appointments
with a Transfer Counselor, workshops, fairs, university tours,
individual university appointments, etc.

Tutorial and Learning Center
Academic support is available to all GWC students in the classes
for which they are currently enrolled. The Center provides
individual appointments, group tutorials, and drop-in tutoring
in most subject areas. In addition, the Tutorial and Learning
Center provides online tutoring sessions in some subject
areas. Additional support services provided by the Tutorial and
Learning Center include review sessions before major exams,
interactive software programs, self-help pamphlets, and other

Veterans Resource Center
GWC offers student veterans an on-campus point of contact for
their veteran-related questions and needs. The resource center
is a place to socialize with fellow Veterans and has space for
studying.
Golden West College is dedicated to providing veterans the

their families, and their communities through a college
