is being spotlighted. "The Bible through in '62" is the theme of
this phase of the program. A widely-publicized effort is to be
made to get 10 million people to read the Bible through in 1962.
It is a promotion program which will involve the public reading of
the Scriptures. "It is hoped that during the week leading up to
Reformation (Sabbath) 100 cities can sponsor the public reading
of the Sctiptures six hours a day for five days. This is to be
sponsored by the local evangelical fellowship under the direction
of the tegion. It can also include the disttibution of the Gospel
of John to those who do not have a Bible. The program is also to
emphasize thorough study of the Bible, and sound expository
preaching.
This is a program which I feel our Church can heartily support,
and I shall attempt to get material to the editor s of the
Covenanter Witness fot publicizing the effort to the people of
out Church.
I will not take time for further report, but would encourage
the Church to take intelligent advantage of her membership in
the N.A.E.
I would recommend that the Clerk of Synod send a night-letter
to the Synod of the Christian Reformed Church encouraging its
re-affiliation with the N.A.E.
