Rev. E. Clark Copeland, pastor of the Old Bethel congregation,
taught the Missionary Candidate Courses, during three
periods in the second semester. Jean Mitchell of the Walton
congregation took work both semesters under this program, and
during the second semester Robert Henning, pastor of the New
York congregation, Mrs. Robert Henning, J. Paul Wilson, pastor of
the Barnet congregation, and Mary Stilo of the Seattle congregation
took courses as missionary candidates. Raymond McCracken,
as a regular student in the Seminary, also took the missionary
candidates' course. These persons have been certified to the Foreign
Mission Board as having completed their assigned work, with
notation of individual exceptions.
There were two other special students this year, Domenick
Sgro of the Christian Church, and Floyd Hazen, of the Baptist
Church.
Because of the disrupted physical circumstances this year
very little guest lecturing was done. On one occasion a converted
Catholic priest spoke and upon another a representative of the
Gideons.
R. C. Fullerton, Professor of Systematic Theology and Homiletics,
gave the lecture at the opening convocation of the school
year, J. G. Vos, chairman of the Bible Department of Geneva College,
preached the Baccalaureate sermon, and P. D. McCracken,
chairman of the Board, delivered the commencement address. The
address at the dedication service was given by E. Clark Copeland.
The field-work program has been carried on through assignments
of middlers to service under the supervision of area pastors.
First-year students and missionary candidates have followed a
regular program of personal visitation under the direction of the
Instructor in Evangelism, K. G. Smith.
The revised constitution calls for two members of the Board
of Superintendents to be elected annually for a six-year term.
The Board has adopted a program whereby this provision can
be implemented. Consequently, the recommendation to Synod in
this regard, for this year and the two successive years, will
specify the periods for which persons should be appointed.

The Secretary was appointed to represent the Seminary before
the Coordinating Committee and S. Bruce Willson to speak in
behalf of the institution on the floor of Synod.
