The roll was called.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Paper No. 9 from F. F. Reade asking a ruling on the position
of Covenanters in Canada with respect to political dissent in
light of the revisions of the Canadian Constitution was referred
to the Judicial Committee.
Paper No. 10 from the Seminary Board requesting a $5000
fund to be made available for graduate study by select students
was referred to the Finance Committee.
Paper No. 11 from the Seminary Board asked for a ratification
of an agreement with the Associate Presbyterian Church whereby
the library of the Associate Presbyterian Synod would be placed
in the library of our Seminary. The agreement was approved.
Paper No. 12 from J. P. McCracken and E. J. McKeown concerning
a study of the Bible basis for deacons was referred to a
special committee to be named by the Nominating Committee.
Synod proceeded to the election of Seminary Professors.
F. F. Reade led the Synod in prayer asking the guidance of the
Holy Spirit in the election of the professors. The first ballot was
on the names of S. B. Willson and R. C. Fullerton. Both were
elected to seven year terms. On the second ballot, fro m the
nominations of E. C. Copeland and J. A. HUl, one position was
to be filled. E. C. Copeland was elected to a three year term.
The report of the Board of Christian Education was read
and taken up item by item. Item 12 was adopted and Kenneth G.
Smith was heard concerning Christian Education.
Synod adjourned in prayer by D. R. WUcox.

Synod met pursuant to adjournment, sang from the 45th Psalm
and was constituted in prayer by C. C. Brown.

Jay Wissner was seated in the place of John AUen as the
delegate from the Allegheny congregation and was introduced
to the Court as a member for the first time.
FoUowing the devotional service, the minutes of the previous
session were read and approved.
The resolution concerning granting of autonomy to the Armenian
Congregations of Cyprus was reconsidered and the date
of the relationship was changed from Sept. 1, 1961 to Jan. 1,1962.
