5. That additional copies of the Handbook of Church Boards
and Committees be made available from our office at 50£ a copy.
6. That sessions bring to the attention of their members
Chapter 5, sec. 1, 2 of the Directory for Worship (Constitution
p. 320, 321) defining, stating the purpose, importance and frequency
of personal and family devotions, and that the sessions
analyze the devotional practices of their congregations taking
note of the Bible readers and other aids supplied by our Board
of Christian Education.
7. That the book of Colossians be chosen for Bible Mastery
month in February, 1962.
8. That the opening session of the 1962 National Convention
be arranged by the National Conference Administration.
9. That Synod appoint a delegate to the National Conference
Administration.
10. That the National Conference Administration arrange for
joint devotional meetings and Sabbath Day services at the 1962
National Conference.
11. That consideration be given to a change of the fiscal
year in order that the Budget could be approved by Synod in
advance of the fiscal year.
12. That Kenneth G. Smith be heard on the floor of Synod for
10 minutes.
13. That the terms of T. Richard Hutcheson, Wilbur McElroy,
Mrs. G. M. Robb, Bruce C. Stewart and D. Ray Wilcox have expired
and their successors should be chosen and that two men
be appointed to fill the unexpired terms of Frank H. Lathom and
Milton L. Harrington.
The report of the Seminary Board was reconsidered and the
items deaUng with the salaries of the professors were referred
to the Finance Committee. The report as amended was adopted
as a whole.
The Clerk was directed to cast the unanimous ballot for
Kenneth G. Smith as ihe Director of Christian Education for a
term of three years.
The report of the Witness Committee was read. A matter of
the salary of the Field Secretary of the Christian Amendment
Movement was referred to the Finance Committee. The report
as a whole was adopted and is as follows:
