5. After 30 seconds you should receive a ring back
to remind you that someone is on hold.
b. To retrieve calls, pick up receiver.
5. CALL WaitinG.
a. A single burst of tone will be heard advising you that
another call is waiting.
NOTE: If your extension is not normally provided
with this feature. The presence of this tone indicates
an urgent call.
b. When you hear the tone, hang up. Your extension will
ring back automatically and you will be connected to
the waiting call.
c. If you wish to hold the first call, depress switch hook
once. This will connect you with your second call.
d. Depress switch hook once again and this will return
you to your first call.
6. CALL FORWarDinG.
a. To establish:
1. Listen for dial tone.
2. Dial *72
3. Second dial tone is heard.
Dial extension to which calls are to be forwarded.
Listen for confirmation tone (two short spurts of
tone followed by dial tone.
4. Hang up.
5. Forwarding is activated. If you misdial, hang up
and follow procedure to cancel, then reestablish
call forwarding.
b. To cancel:
1. Listen for dial tone.
2. Dial *73
3. Listen for confirmation tone.
4. Hang up.
7. automatic ForWarDinG-busY Line.
Your extension, if busy, will automatically route to a
pre-designated extension.
8. AUTOMATIC FORWarDinG-no ANSWer.
If your extension is not answered by the 4th ring, calls
will automatically route to a pre-designated extension.
9. CALL ParK.
a. This allows one call to be held and later retrieved,
from any extension.
1. Briefly depress and release switchhook once.
2. Listen for stutter dial tone.
3. Dial Call Park code, *80
4. Hang up phone.
5. The call will now be on hold against your extension
number.
b. To retrieve the call. Dial Call Park Retrieval code *
plus extension where your call is parked.
10. rinG AGain.
a. Used for notification of a busy number idle when you
receive a busy tone after dialing a number:
1. Briefly depress and release switchhook once.
2. Listen for stutter dial tone.
3. Dial Ring Again code *78, wait for confirmation
tone.
4. Hang up. When the called number is idle, your
extension will ring back automatically and you
will be connected to the waiting call. If you do not
answer your ring back your call to the distant end
will not ring.
5. Pick up your handset and complete the call.
b. To deactivate Ring Again:
1. While in Ring Again Mode (see above), pick up
your handset.
2. Dial ring again code *, wait for confirmation.
3. Hang up.
11. GrouP CALL PicKUP.
To pickup a call directed to another extension within
your assigned Group Call Pickup:
a. Listen for dial tone.
b. Dial the Call Pickup code 111. Answer and identify
yourself (you are connected to the caller).
c. After conversation, hang up.
note:
1. Your extension must be a member of an established
Group Call Pickup.
2. Your extension must be idle to use this feature.

This listing is furnished for the transaction of OFFICIAL
GOVERNMENT BUSINESS ONLY. DSN services and facilities
will not be used for unofficial calls.
1. DIRECT-in-DIALinG. Certain installations have
direct-in-dialing and can be accessed by dialing 94, the
DSN prefix for the base, and the base extension. DSN
prefixes for in-dialing are followed by an X for each digit
required for the extension. For example, the in-dial DSN
prefix for Randolph AFB is 487 or 665 for HQ AFPC. It
is shown as 487-XXXX or (HQ AFPC ONLY) 665-XXXX
indicating that a four-digit extension number is needed.
The calling party must obtain the number from operator
assistance at the called destination. To obtain numbers
for installations not listed, dial “0.”
2. CALLS TO INTERNATIONAL AREAS.
a. General purpose DSN users cannot direct-dial international
DSN numbers. International DSN area codes
200, 302, 313, 314, 315, 318 and 406 may be reached
through the base operator. Users dial “0” and advise
the operator that you have a global DSN call and provide
the area code and DSN number. The operator
may request other information as necessary.
b. Calls to area code 317, Alaska, may be direct dialed;
dial 94 + 317 + 7-digit DSN number.
