5. After 30 seconds you should receive a ring back<br />

to remind you that someone is on hold.<br />

b. To retrieve calls, pick up receiver.<br />

5. CALL WaitinG.<br />

a. A single burst of tone will be heard advising you that<br />

another call is waiting.<br />

NOTE: If your extension is not normally provided<br />

with this feature. The presence of this tone indicates<br />

an urgent call.<br />

b. When you hear the tone, hang up. Your extension will<br />

ring back automatically and you will be connected to<br />

the waiting call.<br />

c. If you wish to hold the first call, depress switch hook<br />

once. This will connect you with your second call.<br />

d. Depress switch hook once again and this will return<br />

you to your first call.<br />

6. CALL FORWarDinG.<br />

a. To establish:<br />

1. Listen for dial tone.<br />

2. Dial *72<br />

3. Second dial tone is heard.<br />

Dial extension to which calls are to be forwarded.<br />

Listen for confirmation tone (two short spurts of<br />

tone followed by dial tone.<br />

4. Hang up.<br />

5. Forwarding is activated. If you misdial, hang up<br />

and follow procedure to cancel, then reestablish<br />

call forwarding.<br />

b. To cancel:<br />

1. Listen for dial tone.<br />

2. Dial *73<br />

3. Listen for confirmation tone.<br />

4. Hang up.<br />

7. automatic ForWarDinG-busY Line.<br />

Your extension, if busy, will automatically route to a<br />

pre-designated extension.<br />

8. AUTOMATIC FORWarDinG-no ANSWer.<br />

If your extension is not answered by the 4th ring, calls<br />

will automatically route to a pre-designated extension.<br />

9. CALL ParK.<br />

a. This allows one call to be held and later retrieved,<br />

from any extension.<br />

1. Briefly depress and release switchhook once.<br />

2. Listen for stutter dial tone.<br />

3. Dial Call Park code, *80<br />

4. Hang up phone.<br />

5. The call will now be on hold against your extension<br />

number.<br />

b. To retrieve the call. Dial Call Park Retrieval code *<br />

plus extension where your call is parked.<br />

10. rinG AGain.<br />

a. Used for notification of a busy number idle when you<br />

receive a busy tone after dialing a number:<br />

1. Briefly depress and release switchhook once.<br />

2. Listen for stutter dial tone.<br />

3. Dial Ring Again code *78, wait for confirmation<br />

tone.<br />

4. Hang up. When the called number is idle, your<br />

extension will ring back automatically and you<br />

will be connected to the waiting call. If you do not<br />

answer your ring back your call to the distant end<br />

will not ring.<br />

5. Pick up your handset and complete the call.<br />

b. To deactivate Ring Again:<br />

1. While in Ring Again Mode (see above), pick up<br />

your handset.<br />

2. Dial ring again code *, wait for confirmation.<br />

3. Hang up.<br />

11. GrouP CALL PicKUP.<br />

To pickup a call directed to another extension within<br />

your assigned Group Call Pickup:<br />

a. Listen for dial tone.<br />

b. Dial the Call Pickup code 111. Answer and identify<br />

yourself (you are connected to the caller).<br />

c. After conversation, hang up.<br />

note:<br />

1. Your extension must be a member of an established<br />

Group Call Pickup.<br />

2. Your extension must be idle to use this feature.<br />

1. DIRECT-in-DIALinG. Certain installations have<br />

direct-in-dialing and can be accessed by dialing 94, the<br />

DSN prefix for the base, and the base extension. DSN<br />

prefixes for in-dialing are followed by an X for each digit<br />

required for the extension. For example, the in-dial DSN<br />

prefix for Randolph AFB is 487 or 665 for HQ AFPC. It<br />

is shown as 487-XXXX or (HQ AFPC ONLY) 665-XXXX<br />

indicating that a four-digit extension number is needed.<br />

The calling party must obtain the number from operator<br />

assistance at the called destination. To obtain numbers<br />
