My dear Papa,—/ cannot tell you how rejoiced I am that I am able to send you <strong>the</strong>se words<br />
<strong>of</strong> greeting <strong>and</strong> love, after so long a period <strong>of</strong> silence. Silent, however, only in <strong>the</strong> outward form,<br />
for as you <strong>and</strong> dear, dear Mama know, I am ever with you in spirit. What a blessed boon is this<br />
God-given poivcr that enables me to tell you this myself! Dear, dear Mama ! How many hours I<br />
have spent in ministering to her [in] <strong>the</strong> tenderness <strong>of</strong> my love, <strong>and</strong> how futile have been my efforts<br />
to free her from pain <strong>and</strong> suffering. Give her my constant <strong>and</strong> tender love, <strong>and</strong> not forge/ling your<br />
dear self, my own Papa, I am yours in <strong>the</strong> blessed faith.<br />
