Before moving to parameters, check the Automatic preview checkbox. Once you make
any change, its effect will be seen in the preview window; otherwise, you will have to
press Preview Once after each change.
Click the left mouse button to create additional nodes on the curve; by changing their
position the image changes as well.
3. Let's analyse the key parameters:
Options :
• Rotate – rotate the distorted border by the specified angle;
• Smoothing checkbox – apply/cancel the smoothing of the distortion;
• Antialiasing checkbox – apply/cancel the antialiasing of the distortion;
Curve for Border – specify the border of the image to be distorted:
• Upper radio button – if checked, it shows that the distortion actions will be
performed on the upper border of the image;
• Lower radio button – if checked, it shows that the distortion actions will be
performed on the bottom border of the image;
Curve Type:
• Smooth radio button – if checked, it shows that a smooth curve will be
created for distorting the image. The curve is created by dragging nodes;
• Free radio button – if checked, it shows that the curve is drawn manually.
Instead of the nodes, there is a special instrument for creating a desired
curve;
Buttons:
• Copy – copy the active curve to the other border;
• Mirror – show a mirror reflection of the active curve;
• Swap – swap the curves;
• Reset – reset the active curve;
4. Press OK.
TASK. Open image fil_8.jpg. Apply the Curve Bend filter by setting the following
parameters:
a)
Options :
• Rotate – 30;
• Check the Smoothing checkbox;
Curve for Border – Upper;
Curve Type – Smooth;
b) Set the following parameters to the distorted image (according to the parameters
under option a)):

• Rotate – 0;
Uncheck the Smoothing checkbox;
Curve for Border – Lower;
Curve Type – Free;
1. Select FileOpen command to open image fil_8.jpg;
2. Apply Filters DistortsCurve bend command. It opens the Curve Bend dialog
box;
