Role of the goal umpire<br />
It is the responsibility of the goal umpire to:<br />
• Be the sole judge of the score.<br />
• Keep record of all the goals and behinds scored in the match.<br />
• Confirm score with the other goal umpire at half-time.<br />
• Complete scorecard and submit to football committee member/match manager.<br />
Signals: Goal umpires<br />
To other goal umpires and spectators<br />
• Goal – from here, flags<br />
come across once, back<br />
once and then back down.<br />
• Behind – from here,<br />
flag comes across,<br />
back and then down.<br />
• Score has been<br />
annulled.<br />
• Out of bounds –<br />
to boundary umpire.<br />
• Behind has been scored<br />
– to boundary umpire.<br />
To field umpires<br />
• On the full –<br />
to boundary umpire.<br />
• Ball hits behind post on the<br />
full – tap three times.<br />
To FIELD UMPIRES<br />
• Ball touched goalpost.<br />
Follow with behind signal.<br />
• Ball touched leg above<br />
knee. Follow with a<br />
behind signal.<br />
• Behind has been scored. • Goal has been scored. • Ball was touched. Follow • Blood rule.<br />
with behind signal.<br />
To Boundary umpires<br />
• Out of bounds –<br />
to boundary umpire.<br />
• Behind has been scored<br />
– to boundary umpire.<br />
• On the full –<br />
