This partial transfer program is designed to prepare graduates to<br />

work alongside licensed teachers as part of a teaching team. In this<br />

capacity, they assist both teacher and student. The program provides<br />

opportunities to develop personally and professionally, while acquiring<br />

a sound philosophy of education.<br />

Students will gain insights into creating learning situations and planning<br />

instructional procedures that meet the needs of a diverse classroom<br />

community. They will have the opportunity to work directly<br />

with children during the field experience course.<br />

Students in this program are required to complete and pass a security<br />

background check in order to take the field experience course.<br />

Past criminal violations may prevent a student from completing the<br />

degree and from being hired by school systems or other child care<br />

facilities upon graduation. Not all courses in this program may be<br />

applied toward a degree at NMSU. Please see an Education adviser<br />

for the current articulation plan.<br />
