Fundamental algebra operations, variable expressions, solving linear<br />

CCDM 116 N Geometry Principles<br />

4 cr. (3+2P)<br />

Points, lines and angles; perpendicularity and right angles; parallel lines;<br />

triangle sum; similarity; right triangles; circles; quadrilaterals; perimeter<br />

and area; and volume of regular and composite figures. Prerequisite:<br />

high school algebra I, ACT math score with 16.<br />

CCDM 117 N Intermediate Algebra I<br />

3 cr.<br />

Real numbers, linear equations, functions, inequalities, absolute value<br />

equations, systems of equations, exponents and scientific notation, polynomials<br />

and polynomial functions, rational expressions. Graded S/U.<br />

A student who completes CCDM 117N with a grade of S must then<br />

continue with a designated section of MATH 120. Prerequisite: student<br />

must be qualified for MATH 120.<br />

Reading<br />

Prerequisite: COMPASS score below 42 on reading section.<br />

CCDR 103 N Comprehensive Reading Development 3 cr. (2+2P)<br />

Provides integration of basic reading skills, including vocabulary development,<br />

text comprehension, and critical reading skills. Course earns<br />

institutional credit but will not count towards degree requirements. Prerequisite:<br />

COMPASS score of 43 to 59 on reading section.<br />

CCDR 105 N Fundamentals of Academic Reading. 3 cr. (2+2P)<br />

Fundamentals of academic reading skills. Emphasis on vocabulary development<br />

and text comprehension through literature based instruction.<br />

Course earns institutional credit but will not count towards degree requirements.<br />

Prerequisite: COMPASS score 60 on reading section.<br />
