sector. The industry is highly promoted in Las Cruces, as well as
throughout the state.
One reason the hospitality industry has such broad appeal is because
a large variety of settings. Graduates may work in—
• front-office operations and reservations
finance, and operations, as well as in subject matter specific to the
option chosen. Through classroom work, volunteering at industrysponsored
events, culinary laboratory experience, and on-site training,
students acquire the skills needed to succeed in the hospitalityservices
industry.
This program is designed for people who are entering the hospitality
and tourism field, as well as for those who are already employed in
the industry and who want to upgrade their professional skills.
