Classification by Surface Treatment<br />

There are a variety of selection for heat treatment and specifications for the conveyor <strong>chain</strong>s. Specific treatments can<br />

be applied not only to the <strong>chain</strong> as a whole but to each component separately, such as pins or plates only.<br />

The surface is treated with outstanding corrosion resistant coating that approaches the resistance of stainless steel.<br />

Double guard coating consists of double layers of two different materials. It exhibits nearly doubled corrosive resistance<br />

in the salt water spray test compared to our conventional high guard coating, and can be used in mild alkaline or mild<br />

acidic conditions up to pH3.<br />

With its improved corrosive resistance, it can be used in circumstances where high guard or plated coatings cannot be<br />

used, and even in some conditions where only stainless steel can be used.<br />

(Double guard coating cannot be applied to welded parts.)<br />

High guard coated surface has superb corrosion resistance.<br />

The surface of the <strong>chain</strong> is finished in non-gloss white highly protective coating. It has excellent resistance to salt<br />

corrosion and rusting. This coating protects <strong>chain</strong>s in high temperatures as it can resist heat up to about 250°C.<br />

Since high guard coating acts as a sacrificial anode for the <strong>chain</strong> body, you can expect sufficient corrosion resistance<br />

even when the coating has come off to some extent. Also, it can be applied to welded parts.<br />

It is recommended for outdoor use or near the sea in circumstances where performance as high as that of stainless<br />

steel is not necessary. In circumstances that require resistance to alkaline and acid, double guard or stainless steel<br />

coating is recommended as they have better resistance than high guard.<br />

Plating is mostly done with nickel. It is a coating with both appealing exterior and corrosion resistance. By using it with<br />

grease lubrication, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance. You can expect the effect to delay hydrogen brittle<br />

destruction when used in circumstances where <strong>chain</strong>s are exposed to sea breeze or acidic sprays.<br />
